The Ministry of Information Technology and Communications will hold its first national summit of digital content Colombia 3.0 held from the 5th to 8th of October at the Pavilion 1 of Corferias in Bogotá, entrepreneurs, developers, investment firms, academia and international industry experts. Colombia 3.0 will offer visitors a full academic program, business rounds will advance and will develop "de-conferences" with global issues.
Bogota August 30, 2011. Colombia 3.0 is part of the Digital Content Policy currently being developed by the ICT Ministry and aims to triple its domestic sales by 2014, which currently amount to 70 million dollars. The Policy focuses its activities on the development in the country of applications for smart phones, video games and digital animations. The objective of this initiative is that Colombia will become a regional destination for foreign firms to invest in the sector and develop their projects in our country.
The academic agenda of Colombia 3.0 consists in others by the international specialist Gerd Leonhard, a leading futurist in telecommunications, an expert in e-commerce models, media, mobile industry, social networking, television, radio and innovation. CEO of the Futures Agency and Visiting Professor at Fundação Dom Cabral in Sao Paulo and Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
Likewise, Colombia 3.0 will have among its speakers the North American Jeffrey Cole who has been at the forefront of media and technological tools in the United States. He is Director of the newly created Center for the Digital Future; he is a research professor and has been a speaker at over 500 world conferences on media and technology. He worked with the governments of Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton from the White House on issues of media and telecommunications.
Likewise he will be present at the Country’s first summit on digital content organized by the ICT Ministry, Allison Cerra co-author of "The Shift: The Evolving, Market, Players and Business models in a 2.0 World", Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Public Relations of Alcatel-Lucent's the Americas region.
Expomeeting - Wheel of talent:
In parallel, Colombia 3.0 will offer a round of talent in which work appointments may advance among representatives of companies and professionals that offer their talents to be employed in firms in the digital content industry.
Expomeeting will also conduct an investment round with the participation of firms which have in their business plan the support of entrepreneurial projects in the country.
De-Conferences Agenda:
Among the themes covered in the de-conferences are the networks of entrepreneurs from Bavaria, the copyright in the digital content industry, the Internet changed the way they study abroad, the future of Internet: The domains .Co; Entrepreneurship in tourism and technology, among others.
The de-conferences are conferences in which the participants and attendees take an active participatory role. The term has been applied to various meetings in which we try to avoid the more conventional aspects of a conference and in these the duration is short as opposed to major exhibition lectures.
ACM Siggraphah also in Colombia 3.0
Colombia 3.0 will also have a parallel program in which 19 speakers from the most recognized companies in the world of animation will share their success stories and firms like Pixar will share animation projects and success stories developed by the multinational firm, they will be shared with those attending the event organized by the ICT Ministry.
ACM Siggraph is a global nonprofit focused on computer graphics and interactive techniques. It also involves such areas as digital animation, architectural visualization, medical imaging, new technologies, computer science, design and digital art, among others.
ACM Siggraphah seeks to generate and share knowledge in these areas to create an open community of professionals and students at they know the progress and development of this industry.
Colombia 3.0 will also be the space for the first accountability presentation of the Live Digital Plan which for 11 months of implementation has increased from 2.2 million internet connections in the country to 4.1 million and aims to reach 8.8 million Internet connections by 2014.
