Dr. Randall Trevino
Randall TREVINO was named Deputy Regional Director at ITU Regional Office for the Americas in February 2013.
Prior to this appointment, he performed duties as Director of Networks and Telecommunication Systems at Vice Ministry of Telecommunications in Costa Rica; Randall was the former President of the Board of Central America
Telecommunications Commission – COMTELCA and co-responsible for the creation of the National Broadband
Strategy in Costa Rica.
After more than thirty years’ experience in the high-technology industry, Randall worked for 13 years with ICE, The Electricity and Telecommunications Institute in Costa Rica, where held increasingly management positions in Electricity and Telecommunication areas. In 1995 he became Director of International Engineering for IMA-WorldCom in
Miami, USA with the responsibility of the development of the International Call Originating Network throughout Latin America, where he remained until 2001, and then he moved to NEXCOM-LeadCom Group Israel as General Manager and Senior Project Director successfully managing NORTEL projects for more than US$ 50 million.
Afterwards he was appointed Senior Project Director for GBM an IBM alliance Company, to manage high profile projects on CISCO Giga Routers Backbone Networks. Mr.Trevino also has held executive positions in various companies in the private sector as Xerox, ITS Info-Comunicación, and IBS Technologies among others.
Mr. Trevino received degrees in Electrical and Telecommunication Engineering - Summa Cum Laude - from Central America Autonomous University, Master Degree in Project Management - Cum Laude - from University of Science and Technology in Costa Rica, MBA International Business from University of Miami, USA, and M.Sc.
Engineering from Purdue University, USA.
