International Office General Task
The International Office is in charge to assist and support the Ministry's Office in the de-development of the politics, guidelines, and actions as a result of the relations with international organisms associated with the TIC´s sector, within the framework of the international cooperation or bilateral relations. Therefore, it also serves as the link and reference of the TIC´s sector in the face of international organisms and instances. Likewise, it promotes the exchange of experts and experiences in the sector´s issues, elaborates concepts about actions, agreements, projects, conventions in the context of the international negotiations, among other tasks.
Elisa Fuentes Mejia
Elisa Fuentes Mejia studied law the Universidad de los Andes. Her professional career started in the Superintendence of Corporations, in which she worked as a lawyer for the Group of Corporation's Processes. Afterward, she went to study for her master's in International and Comparative Law at George Washington University (United States). Meanwhile, Fuentes worked at the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB).
Later, she returned to Colombia to be part of organizations such as the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia and Frontier Energy Corp, among others. Her most recent position was as a consultant of the IDB in Washington D.C.
The chief of the International Office of the Ministry of Technologies of the Information and Communications has brief experience in the application and usage of the law in diverse matters as sustainability, environmental and corporate social responsibility in international law, oil, miner, societies, and contracts. In addition to her title as lawyer and master's, she counts with a diplomat in High Studies in Political Management and Governance, and Telecoms Law.
